Apple & Whiskey Tart

Serves: 12

Ingredients

  • 1000ml Millac Gold
  • 600g shortcrust pastry
  • 8 apples
  • 120g Lakeland Dairies Butter
  • 300g caster sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 10ml Irish Whiskey
  • marmalade

Method

Core the apples, the slice them very thinly.

Set asicd teh best slices from the thickest part and dice the excess.

Cook the diced apple in Lakeland Dairies Butter and sugar and add the whiskey, burn off the alcohol and add the Millac Gold  and reduce, then set aside to cool.

Arrange two rectangular pastry bases and crimp the edges and eggwash.

Place the creamed apple onto pastry and top with the sliced apple.

Sprinkle over a little caster sugar. Bake for 45minutes at 180°C.

Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before cutting.

Brush with a little melted marmalade to glaze.

Serve with the Millac Gold
